    Dear Friends,

National Postal Week is celebrated every year by India Post for seven days commencing on the World Post Day, October 9th. The celebration is made with much fanfare in our Circle comprising of West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This year World Post Day coincides with the day following Vijaya Dashami. I take this opportunity to express my warm greetings and best wishes to all the users of postal services, our well-wishers, our employees and Gramin Dak Sevaks.

This is the time for us to introspect. We need to ask ourselves whether we were able to rise up to fulfill the expectations of our users. Contrary to popular impression, Postal revenue of the Circle is increasing over the years. Massive growth of e-commerce business has brought new opportunities to postal services. We enjoy the trust of the middle class so far as various financial services offered across post offices are concerned. Our Circle tops the country in terms of mobilization from national savings schemes. India Post is the biggest distribution outlet of the country which is utilized by the Govt. of India to disburse sovereign services to the doorsteps of the citizens: applying for Passports, enrolling for Aadhaar Card or taking Banking services to doorsteps of the people. This new identity of the post office has provided fresh challenges to our employees and I am sure they will rise to the occasion as they always did in past.

Once again I wish good health, prosperity and sense of fulfillment to all the users of postal services in West Bengal, Sikkim and A&N Islands, to our well wishers and to hard working diligent postal employees and the Gramin Dak Sevaks.

    Namaskar - Shubho Vijaya !
