As we usher into the New Year 2021, I wish our customers, staff members and their family a very Happy New Year.
The year 2020 is behind us now. The year gone possibly is one of the worst for humanity. We too lost some of our colleagues to the pandemic. However, it is a matter of pride that DOP rose to the challenges the pandemic threw and won great appreciation for its work.
Our financial performance in the current financial year expectedly is much below our projected targets. Though we have made good progress in the last 3 months and hope to sustain it in the next 3 months to achieve a fair share of the revenue target, we may still fall short.
Our Circle has a good tradition in small savings. Using our vast network and new technology tools is key to improve our revenue under financial services which contribute to a big percentage of our revenue. Savings bring hope to the individuals and their families and hope about the future is the biggest need of the hour.
Though we do not have dedicated sale force for marketing POSB, good customer service will bring in our existing and new customers to the post office. Each of our employees could easily canvass for new accounts and PLI policies in their neighbourhood with a bit of effort.
It is equally important to use our work force optimally for better output as our Circle is incurring huge costs for manpower.
Finally, according top priority for addressing customer grievances will not only make our customers happy but each of them will bring in more customers besides improving the image of the Department.
We have many young, dynamic and intelligent staff members in our Circle. I am sure all of us want to work in an organization which has high brand value and trustworthiness. It is in our hands and in our attitude to create such an organization. Let’s work towards this and remain grateful to the Department which takes care of us and our families.
I wish each one of you a great year ahead.
