Shri Ashok Kumar, an Officer of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS) batch of 1997 has taken over the charge of Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal Circle on 12th March, 2025.
Born in 1969, he received his primary education from a Government Primary School at a remote village of Jehanabad District in Bihar and high school education in Patna (Bihar). After graduating with B.A.(Honors) from Ramjas College, Delhi University, he pursued Masters of Arts in Political Science from Delhi University. He has also earned the degree of LLB in the year 1996 from Campus Law Centre (CLC), Delhi University. He got into the 1997 batch of Civil Services.
Shri Ashok Kumar, during his career had the opportunity to serve in different capacities as Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices, Asstt. DG, Director Postal Services, Dy. Director General and Postmaster General at different times in the Department of Posts.
Shri Ashok Kumar has worked under the Department of Posts to fulfil the objective of service to the people, and has been a part of all the campaigns & drives launched by Department of Posts in different times.
